Sade Baderinwa Biography
Sade Baderinwa who’s real name is Folasade Olayinka Baderinwa is an American journalist who serves as an anchor of WABC-TV’s top-rated Eyewitness News at 5:00 and 11:00. ABC 7 is the flagship station of the ABC television network, licensed to New York, New York, United States. She is also an actress known for Head of State (2003), Jeopardy! (1984).
Sade began her journalism career as a production assistant for ABC News. She worked on several programs such as This Week With David Brinkley, Nightline, World News Tonight, and News One. She was also a reporter trainee at WUSA-TV. The CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C.
Baderinwa later became a reporter for WSLS-TV, the NBC affiliate in Roanoke, Virginia. In February 2000, she joined WBAL-TV, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore. At WBAL-TV, Sade anchored the morning and noon newscasts and hosted a weekly community affairs show.
In supporting community service, she has worked with numerous Tri-State area organizations, community leaders, and students. Sade has created and developed a successful mentoring program called “Get ‘Reel’ With Your Dreams: The Inside Track.” The program exposes high school students from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to top professionals in film and television. This has succeeded as a result of partnering with The Walt Disney Company, WABC-TV, Lincoln Center Institute, and also New York Women in Film and Television. Sade has appeared as a regular moderator at the United Nations’ celebration of International Women’s Day.
Baderinwa came to ABC 7 in 2003 initially serving as a reporter and anchor for the station’s noon newscast. She later joined Diana Williams as co-anchor of the 5 p.m. newscast. She appeared as a guest co-host on The View on October 27, 2006. Sade became co-anchor of the 11 p.m. newscast with Bill Ritter, replacing Liz Cho in May 2011. Cho had vacated the slot to anchor the station’s new 4 p.m newscast. It had debuted after the end of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Born to an African father and a German mother, Sade had an interesting background. Her mother no longer took part in her life by the age of seven. Edie’s parents also provided additional support. She was later taken in by her biological mother at the age of 12 and began living with her in Montgomery County.
