18-year-old Kerry rose to fame in 1999 as a member of Atomic Kitten. This is an all-female pop trio created by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark frontman Andy McCluskey. In Late November 1999, their debut single “Right Now” was released and reached number 10 on the UK Singles Chart. They followed this with a second single, “See Ya” released in March 2000, and was an even bigger success reaching No. 7. Following this initial success, the girl group performed an Asian tour and scored their first No. 1 hit with “Cradle”. On March 16, 2000, the album, Right Now was first released in Japan and subsequently released in the UK on October 23, 2000.

Followed by the release of two further singles “I Want Your Love” and “Follow Me”. In 2000, the group went on to record a cover version of “The Locomotion” for the movie Thomas and the Magic Railroad. Their debut album Right Now peaked at No. 39 on the UK album chart. However, several days before the single’s release, Kerry left the group because she was pregnant. Thus “Whole Again” went on to become the group’s first number one hit in the United Kingdom and stayed at the top for four consecutive weeks. Because of this success, “Whole Again” was released globally and reached No. 1 in 18 other countries including six weeks in Germany and New Zealand. After Kerry married Brian McFadden and took his surname, she moved into television work.
