Christine Romans Biography

Christine Romans is an American journalist who serves as an anchor and chief business correspondent for CNN and the host of CNN Money which is CNN’s Saturday business program. She is also an author.

Romans is the anchor of “Early Start” with Dave Briggs. She graduated from Iowa State University in 1993. While attending Iowa State University, she majored in French in addition to Journalism and Mass Communication and also spent extensive time in France as an exchange student.

She joined CNN in 1999.  Romans also reports on the economy, politics, and international business for CNN’s morning shows. Christine’s reporting is also regularly featured on CNN International. She is known as CNN’s explainer-in-chief of all things money, she translates complicated international finance to kitchen table economics. She is an author of two books: How to Speak Money (Wiley 2011) and Smart is the New Rich (Wiley 2010).

In 2009, her special “In God We Trust: Faith & Money in America” explored the intersection of how religious values govern the way people think about and spend money.
