Marc Brown (full name: Marc Alan Brown) is a well-known American journalist serving at KABC-TV as a television news anchor. He co-anchors with Michelle Tuzee at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. at Eyewitness News HD newscasts. Due to his distinguished prominence, Brown has won a Golden Mike, an Associated Press and a Radio and Television News Director Association award, and four Emmy Awards.
Brown began his television career in 1984 as a reporter at KIEM-TV in Eureka, California. He later landed a job as an anchor and reporter at KOLO-TV in Reno, KNTV in San Jose, and KFMB-TV in San Diego. He returned to Los Angeles in 1989 and landed a job as a reporter at KABC-TV. Brown was later promoted to be the weekend anchor and in 1996, he received anchoring duties on the weekday 6 p.m. newscast.
Brown was named anchor of the weeknight 11 pm newscast in the year 2000. He made history as the second African-American to be the primary anchor 11 p.m. weeknight newscast in Los Angeles. Brown together with his co-anchor Michelle Tuzee was placed on the 5 p.m. newscast in August 2007 an additional role to the 11 p.m. program.
